Multiple Chelsea stars missed Tuesday’s training session ahead of Friday’s Premier League match against Brentford, raising fears at the club, and among the fans.

Among those missing were club captain Reece James, this season's top scorer Joao Pedro, and key midfielder Moises Caicedo. Manager Xabi Alonso was hoping to have a clean bill of health within his squad, with the possible introductions of Jordan Henderson and Marco Palestra, who were present today, still waiting to make their club debuts.

Chelsea fans would hope that none of those players are sidelined for too long, if they were to miss the match at the GTech Community Stadium on Friday night. Sky Sports' James Savundra attended the opening part of the session, with both James and Pedro not present.

Worries would begin to grow, especially around Reece James, given the player's long list of injuries, especially when it seems like he is getting a prolonged run in the squad again. He's been unscathed up to this point, playing 90 minutes against Hull, Arsenal, and Fulham, as well as coming off the bench in the 68th minute against Brighton and 45 minutes against Leeds United in Carabao Cup.

As for Joao Pedro, the Brazilian has started the season on fire, getting six goal contributions across the first four Premier League matches; he rescued a point for the Blues at Stamford Bridge against Hull on Saturday in their 2-2 draw. He set up Morgan Rogers' opener, and bagged the equaliser midway through the second half.

A potential big miss for Chelsea but their most influential player has yet to finish a game this season, and is a crucial miss.

Midfielder Moises Caicedo has rarely been seen in a Chelsea shirt this season, missing the Blues' first two matches before coming back into the squad for 14 minutes against former club, Brighton, before being pulled after 14 minutes on the pitch. He would continue to sit on the sideline for the matches against Arsenal, Hull, and Leeds, with Alonso saying that he's currently struggling with a calf issue.

Xabi Alonso is set to give a full update on his squad during his press conference on Thursday with fans hoping for good news regarding the key players' involvement.
