Chelsea have been linked with a long list of players in recent times. One of the profiles near the top of their wishlist is someone who can play in multiple positions across the forward line. Morgan Rogers, Mohammed Kudus and Eberechi Eze are talents who fit that description. Now, it is time to add Xavi Simons' name to that list as well.

Simons is one of the most highly-rated talents in the Bundesliga right now and is a regular in the Netherlands national team too. But it is believed that he is keen on leaving RB Leipzig after they failed to secure qualification to the Champions League, having finished seventh last season.

It was in January that Simons joined RB Leipzig on a permanent basis but he is already eyeing a move away from the German side. While the club are said to be looking for a fee in the region of €80 million, the player seems to be have his preferred destination as well.

As reported by BILD (via Get German Football News), Simons prefers to move to the Premier League. The Duthcman has brought in Ali Barat to help facilitate a transfer. and the agent is expected to approach Chelsea.

On paper, signing Simons would be a massive coup for Chelsea. There is no doubt about that. That being said, it is hard to not be worried about the risks that would come with such a move for both parties.

It goes without saying that €80 million is a massive transfer fee. On top of that, Chelsea's record with Bundesliga talents has not been good in recent times. Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, Christoper Nkunku and Jadon Sancho are great examples of standouts in Germany failing to adjust to the English game.

Now, it remains to be seen if Chelsea end up making a proper move to sign Simons from RB Leipzig this summer. It could prove to be another blockbuster signing for the Blues if they can get it over the line despite the risks.
