In recent years, plenty of Chelsea players have made the move to Real Madrid. Thibaut Courtois, Eden Hazard and Antonio Rudiger are names that come to mind immediately. On the other hand, Enzo Fernandez is someone who is constantly linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu as well. Interestingly though, it is the Blues who now seem to be eyeing one of Los Blancos' players.
Chelsea were linked with Rodrygo in the summer but that led nowhere. Now, it looks like it is Eduardo Camavinga who has caught the eye of the Blues.
As reported by Caught Offside, Chelsea "100%" have a genuine, concrete interest in Camavinga. He's facing uncertainty under Xabi Alonso and could move for €80m.
Camavinga was linked with Chelsea before he joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2021. He has now spent more than four seasons at Santiago Bernabeu and won a couple of Champions League titles. But with Carlo Ancelotti leaving, and Alonso replacing him, there are some doubts about the Frenchman's future in the Spanish capital, which could help the Blues sign him.
Chelsea interest in signing €80m Real Madrid player confirmed
Chelsea have one of the best midfields in Europe right now. But it looks like they are still looking to improve in the middle of the park.
Some questions have been raised about Fernandez lately. While his output has been impressive in his new role since the appointment of Enzo Maresca, far too often, he seems to go missing in games. Also, many believe that he is not athletic enough to do the defensive duties asked of him.
Would Camavinga be brought in to take Fernandez's place in the team? Well, if he is, he will need to improve his output. He has scored just 4 goals in 180 appearances for Real Madrid.
