Chelsea interested in signing Brazil international striker

It appears that Chelsea are interested in signing the Brazilian international striker, who has struggled in Europe in the past.

It is safe to say that Chelsea will be pretty happy with the Brazilian talents that they have in their squad right now. Estevao arrived in the summer and has settled in faster than most would have anticipated. Many even believe that he should be starting ahead of an established Portuguese international like Pedro Neto, which is the highest compliment the 18-year-old winger can expect.

Andrey Santos is proving to be a solid backup option in midfield as well. And while Joao Pedro has had his ups and downs, he seems to be finding his form in front of goal once again, which is a major positive.

On the other hand, it looks like Chelsea have their eyes on another Brazilian international. It is someone who we have seen flop at Barcelona before heading back to his homeland, where he has rediscovered his form with Palmeiras, the same club the Blues signed Estevao from.

If you have guessed already, the player in question is Vitor Roque. As reported by Football Insider, Pete O'Rourke said:

"I think Vitor Roque might be one that might be more in the summer that some clubs might look at.

“You’ve also got reported interest from Chelsea and Tottenham in Vitor Roque as well. So I think it would be more than just Manchester United who will be interested in them if he does continue his fine form for Palmeiras."

Big things were expected from Roque at Barcelona. While he was not able to deliver there, he is showing his talent in the Brazilian league once again and might get another chance in Europe soon.

Of course, it is not just Chelsea who seem to be interested in signing Roque. The likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United appear to be keeping an eye out on his situation.

Let's see what the future holds for Roque. Most Chelsea fans would prefer for the club to go out and sign a proven goalscorer at the highest level instead. But it looks like the Blues are not willing to move away from their transfer policy despite the underwhelming results under the new ownership.
