Chelsea have an Argentine core at Stamford Bridge already. Enzo Fernandez is the vice-captain and one of the Blues' most important players right now. Alejandro Garnacho was signed in the summer from Manchester United and is starting to find his feet after a slow start, having provided four goal contributions in his last four appearances. And Facundo Buonanotte was brought in on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion.

Of course, whenever it comes to Chelsea, one cannot overlook the players at Strasbourg. Joaquin Panichelli is someone who has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge after his brilliant start to life in France, as he has scored nine times in 12 Ligue 1 appearances this season.

On the other hand, it looks like Chelsea have one of the most highly-regarded youngsters in world football as well. They seem to anticipate that his transfer value will soar beyond €100 million soon and want to bring him to Stamford Bridge before that happens.

As reported by CaughtOffside, Chelsea have made an official inquiry about Nico Paz’s availability. But Real Madrid hold buy-back options worth €9 million in 2026 and €10 million in 2027, which makes any move complicated.

Paz might play for Argentina but he was born in Spain and came through the youth ranks at Real Madrid. But like many before him, he did not get enough chances at the senior level and ended up leaving in search of opportunities, although Los Blancos did include buyback and sell-on clauses in the deal.

In hindsight, that was a masterstroke. There have been suggestions that Real Madrid want to bring him back, and why wouldn't they? It is an opportunity to sign one of football's brightest talents for a transfer fee less than €10 million. It remains to be seen if Paz can be convinced to do so.

Someone like Paz could be a great signing for Chelsea as well. He has established himself as one of the fastest rising talents in Serie A with four goals and four assists in 11 league appearances so far this season.

There were also suggestions that Morgan Rogers was Chelsea's top target for future transfer windows but he has signed an extension at Aston Villa, making that move improbable or, at the very least, more expensive. Paz could be an excellent alternative although it will all depend on whether he wants to head back to Real Madrid or not.
