It was not too long ago that Endrick was considered the biggest talent to come out of Brazil since Neymar. That title now belongs to Estevao, who has made a brilliant start to life with Chelsea. On the other, his former Palmeiras teammate has struggled since joining Real Madrid and a move away from Santiago Bernabeu could already be on the cards.
Endrick scored 7 goals in his debut season with Real Madrid, although the majority of them came in the Copa del Rey. Since the arrival of Xabi Alonso as manager, he has completely lost his place in the team though.
This season, he has only made one appearance so far, coming off the bench late in a 4-0 win against Valencia. So, it is not hard to understand why Endrick is being linked with a move away. A loan switch to Lyon was believed to be close, but now, Chelsea have made a last-minute attempt to try and bring him to Stamford Bridge.
As reported by Cadena SER, Chelsea have inquired about Endrick in recent days, sowing some doubt in the player's mind. Until recently, he had almost decided that his destination would be Lyon, but the English interest has given the Brazilian pause for thought. Even so, everything points to France as his next destination.
Chelsea make move for Endrick with January move possible
Chelsea were believed to be interested in signing Endrick before Real Madrid got a deal done. Could that help the Blues sign him on loan this time?
Of course, the competition would be tough at Chelsea as well and it is consistent game time that Endrick is looking for right now. Also, Real Madrid are not the type of club to give up on a player early while the Blues don't sign someone on short-term loan deals unless they have future plans to sign him permanently.
So, this might be a difficult situation to unlock. The most likely route for Endrick still seems to be a move to Lyon, but Chelsea have certainly made things interesting with their approach for the Real Madrid ace.
