With a few weeks left in the summer transfer window, Chelsea need to get things done quickly if they want to complete some more deals. Of course, the fans are awaiting arrivals. They have been heavily linked with moves for Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho. Many would like to see a centre-back being brought in as well, following Levi Colwill's potentially season-ending injury in pre-season training, which has significantly weakened the Blues' defence going into the new campaign.
On the other hand, there are plenty of players still with a chance of departing Stamford Bridge before the summer transfer window closes. One of them is Nicolas Jackson.
For the past two years, Jackson has been Chelsea's starting centre-forward. But he failed to make the position his own. The Senegalese international has struggled with his finishing and staying out of the referee's book.
Chelsea have added two strikers this summer in the form of Joao Pedro and Liam Delap. Both seem to be ahead of Jackson in Enzo Maresca's pecking order already. So, it remains to be seen what the future holds for the Senegalese international. An exit is believed to be the most likely route but nothing has materialised yet.
Chelsea player reportedly tells friends he wants to join Aston Villa
It looks like he might be open to heading to the Midlands. As reported by Football Insider, Jackson has told friends that he wants to join Aston Villa this summer.
Going to Aston Villa would mean a reunion for Jackson. Unai Emery has already coached him at Villarreal and will know what to expect from the striker.
Also, it feels like if Jackson can get his finishing together, he will be one of the best strikers in the world. So, many teams might feel the move is worth the risk.
