There is a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding Chelsea at the moment. They have found some form on the pitch lately with back-to-back wins, ending a four-game winless run in the process. But Enzo Maresca's cryptic comments have raised question marks over his future at Stamford Bridge. It remains to be seen what the future holds.
On the other hand, the upcoming January transfer window promises to be an interesting one as well. Will Chelsea be active? Or will they stick with the squad that they have, despite obvious areas in need of improvement?
We will find out very soon. While there is uncertainty around potential signings, it is pretty clear that quite a few could be heading for the exit door. Names like Raheem Sterling, Axel Disasi and Tyrique George have been brought up consistently. But it looks like a lesser-known name is also a potential candidate to leave.
As reported by Mail Online (via The Chelsea Chronicle), Jimi Tauriainen is set to leave the club in January. Clubs in Belgium and the Netherlands have already shown interest in signing him when the transfer window opens.
Chelsea player set to leave the club in this January window
Tauriainen joined Chelsea in 2020 from HJK Helsinki. The hope was that he would develop into a first-team player one day.
Now 21 years of age, it looks unlikely that that is ever going to happen. He has managed to make a couple of appearances for Chelsea at the senior level but has not taken the next step since then.
At this point, it might be best for both parties involved to part ways. There is seemingly interest in Tauriainen's signature from around Europe. So, one would hope that he would not have a tough time finding his next home in January.
