Chelsea have bid farewell to plenty of players in recent weeks as they seem to be keen to part ways with those no longer in Enzo Maresca's plans in order to not only balance the books but also to make space in the squad for the new as well as future arrivals. Following the departures of Noni Madueke and Djordje Petrovic, it looks like another high-profile name could end up moving away from Stamford Bridge in this summer transfer window.
Chelsea have brought in two forwards this summer. Liam Delap was the first to arrive, as the club triggered his release clause. That was followed up by a move for Joao Pedro.
Delap has not exactly starred but it is not hard to see what he brings to the table in terms of physicality and presence up front. As for Pedro, he has been out of this world so far. In two starts, he has scored three fantastic goals, helping Chelsea to the Club World Cup. Hopefully, there is a lot more to come from the Brazilian and this is just the trailer.
Of course, the success of those two would mean fewer minutes on the pitch for Nicolas Jackson. Could an exit be on the cards for the Senegal international?
Chelsea player unhappy at Stamford Bridge amid exit rumours
As reported by Football Insider, Delap and Pedro’s arrivals at Chelsea have left an unhappy Jackson weighing up his future. He is not happy with his new status in Maresca's squad, and this could open the door for a potential summer departure.
Manchester United are a club who have been heavily linked with a move for Jackson in recent days. Will Ruben Amorim's side make a move for the struggling Chelsea striker? We will find out soon.
Do not get us wrong, there is a lot to like about Jackson's game. There are certain areas where he is elite. Then again, his finishing has never really improved and his disciplinary issues are a distraction as well. So, parting ways might be the best step for both parties if a satisfactory offer arrives at Chelsea's table.
