Chelsea are expected to be busy in the upcoming summer transfer window, especially if they qualify for the UEFA Champions League. For that to happen, they need to win their last Premier League game of the season, which is away against Nottingham Forest. Not the easiest task, but not impossible to achieve either. Then, the focus should turn towards strengthening.

Chelsea fans are hoping that the club adjust their transfer policy this summer and focus on signing some proven quality. If recent reports in the Spanish media are accurate, they might be looking to do just that.

Eberechi Eze put his name in the Crystal Palace record books this weekend by scoring the winner in the FA Cup final against Manchester City to guide the Eagles to the first major trophy in the club's history. Could this be the perfect time for him to take the next step in his career?

As reported by Fichajes, Manchester City and Chelsea have already made moves to try to sign Eze and want to activate his £70 million release clause. Crystal Palace have made it clear that it will only let him leave if a team meets that figure.

Not just the winner in the FA Cup final, Eze has been excellent throughout the course of the 24/'25 season. He has scored 13 goals and provided 11 assists across all competitions.

Eze has played his football in the number 10 role. But Chelsea already have Cole Palmer there. So, it is hard to see how both would fit into the same team.

Of course, it is possible that Chelsea are viewing him as a winger. With the futures of Noni Madueke, Jadon Sancho and Christopher Nkunku in doubt, someone like Eze could be a solid addition for the Blues.
