When Chelsea signed Cole Palmer from Manchester City, a lot of fans were not convinced by the move and many viewed it as a waste of money. A couple of years on and he is the face of the club. Of course, one cannot hide from the fact that his form has dipped, and hopefully, Enzo Maresca will be able to find a way to get the best out of him again.

On the other hand, it looks like Chelsea might be looking to pull of a similar masterstroke this summer. This time around, they have their eyes set on Liverpool instead of Manchester City.

As reported by CaughtOffside, Chelsea are understood to be one of the clubs on alert for the potential move of Harvey Elliott this summer. The player could be open to leaving Anfield and Liverpool would prepared to sanction an exit if the right offer comes in.

Elliott was the star man for England at the U21 EUROs and looked a class apart from most at the tournament. Yet, at the club level, he is not a starter at 22 years of age. So, it might be time for a change fo scenery.

Elliott just started twice in the Premier League last season and played 822 minutes of football. He needs to be playing a lot more regularly at this point in his career if he wants to take the next step.

Chelsea have been linked with Mohammed Kudus, known for his ability to play on both flanks and in the number 10 role. Elliott can do the same, and he might be available for a lower fee.

Judging from a variety of outlets, it looks like Liverpool will want north of £40 million, ideally around £50 million, to part ways with Elliott. Let's see if Chelsea make a move.
