There is still quite some time left in the summer transfer window and it looks like Chelsea might be looking to make a few moves before it ends. The Blues have been linked with both Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho quite heavily in recent weeks. Enzo Maresca's comments after the game against Bayer Leverkusen suggested that they will have an eye out on centre-backs as well following Levi Colwill's ACL injury.

Earlier in the summer, Chelsea had tried to sign Mike Maignan from AC Milan. But they were not able to agree on a fee with the Italian club.

Since then, it has been maintained in the media that Chelsea are happy with their options at goalkeeper and do not want to sign anybody there. But then again, some opportunities are too good to pass up on.

As reported by ESPN, PSG do not want to keep Gianluigi Donnarumma. Chelsea, Manchester United and Inter Milan have all had contact with Enzo Raiola, the Italian goalkeeper's agent.

Donnarumma is arguably the best goalkeeper in the world. And it is not often that players of his quality become available, and for a bargain transfer fee, as he has only a year left on his current deal with PSG.

It is also worth pointing out that Donnarumma is just 26 years of age. So, signing him could mean that the goalkeeping situation at Chelsea is sorted for the foreseeable future. That is an area that has remained an issue since Thibaut Courtois left in the summer of 2018.

It feels like a no-brainer for Chelsea to go out and sign Donnarumma. This team is already on an upward trajectory and that could take them to the next level immediately. But then again, you never know what the club are thinking.

One cannot forget that there are high hopes surrounding Mike Penders, who many believe is the next Courtois. But is his potential enough for Chelsea to not even make a move for Donnarumma this summer?
