Chelsea have deemed Christopher Nkunku's transfer value at £70m, amid interest from Bayern Munich in the January transfer window.

Chelsea signed Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig in 2023. At the time, the Blues triggered his £52m release clause, which they deemed to be incredible value for money.

Since his arrival at Stamford Bridge, the French striker has hardly set the world alight. However, it's been through no fault of his own as in his first season he was injured for a lengthy period of time and in his second season, he's played second-fiddle to Nicolas Jackson.

Now, it could be time for Chelsea to cash in on Nkunku and make a profit on the striker. Indeed, their transfer valuation would see them make a tidy return.

According to a report from Sky Sports, Chelsea are holding out on selling Christopher Nkunku on two conditions. Firstly, they want their £70m valuation met - Nothing less will be accepted. Secondly, the Blues want to have a world-class replacement lined up for Nkunku to be sold.

Kaveh Solhekol says: "Christopher Nkunku’s proposed move from Chelsea to Bayern Munich is currently on hold. Chelsea want the forward to stay and would only reluctantly let him leave if their valuation of at least £70m was met. They would also need to have lined up a world-class replacement before sanctioning any move."

Bayern Munich could be a worthwhile destination for Christopher Nkunku. The Bavarian giants certainly have the money to invest, if they deem him worthwhile. After all, he is already Bundesliga proven.

That said, we would be remiss not to mention the conundrum which Christopher Nkunku would then face - Being in competition for a place with Harry Kane would be a losing battle. Although, he could play just behind Kane.

In terms of a replacement, Chelsea do have a few in the pipeline. Already this month, they have been linked with moves for Dusan Vlahovic of Juventus and Liam Delap of Ipswich Town. Both players are the top goal-scorers for their respective teams, albeit at two different levels.
