Romeo Lavia is a phenomenal talent. Most of the time he has played, he has impressed. Yet, there is uncertainty around his future at Chelsea. That is because of his seemingly never-ending injury problems. Signed in the summer of 2023, the Belgian international has only featured 23 times for the Blues so far. It is clear why that is an issue.

Despite this, there have been rumours that Manchester United are interested in signing Lavia. And considering how injury-prone he has proven to be, Chelsea might need to think about an offer if it does come in.

For now, the transfer window is far away. So, what are Chelsea's current thoughts on Lavia, as we await his first appearance of the season?

As reported by TBR Football, Chelsea like Lavia a lot despite his ongoing injury issues. He s rated highly by the club and they still fully believe in him as a player.

There are two ways to view this situation. First of all, it is probably worth monitoring Lavia for another season and hoping that he is able to put his injury problems behind him. There are serious question marks around Enzo Fernandez's fit in this team, especially when up against big teams. The Belgian brings exactly what the Argentine does not, and can be crucial to Enzo Maresca's plans.

But on the contrary, availability is the best quality in an athlete. Unfortunately, Lavia is not providing that at the moment and has not done so since the very beginning of his career. The longer he continues to struggle with injuries, the farther his transfer valuation will fall.

He is still 21 years of age though. We have seen many players struggle with injuries at the start of their careers, only to find it later on, as they have settled into the senior game. Chelsea fans will be hoping that is the case with Lavia.
