Chelsea will enter further talks to sign Alejandro Garnacho from Man United, currently valued at £50m. It would be incredibly underwhelming.

Chelsea are currently active in the January transfer window. The Blues have been testing the waters for some pretty impressive transfers in recent weeks, with many believing that this window might be the time they invest in a brilliant striker.

Nevertheless, Chelsea are not the club to settle for just one position being strengthened. They are beasts in the transfer market and one of the biggest spenders in Europe, after all.

Therefore, it's been no surprise in recent weeks to see Chelsea linked to Alejandro Garnacho. The Copa América winner is believed to be on Chelsea's radar, with Antonio Conte also wanting to bring him to Napoli.

Yesterday, it was revealed that Napoli were confident about signing Alejandro Garnacho. They are not fazed by Chelsea's interest as they hold themselves in high regards anyway.

According to a report by Matt Law of The Telegraph, Chelsea are now set to hold new talks over Alejandro Garnacho. The Blues, alongside their competitors Napoli, would like assurances over Garnacho's position before pushing with a move for him.

So, the Blues are due to have further talks with Garnacho's team of representatives. Certainly, this is a hot transfer topic at the moment, considering Garnacho's agents were watching Chelsea beat Wolves on Monday night.

According to Law, Chelsea did not invite Garnacho's agents to the game. However, their presence at Stamford Bridge certainly raised the eyebrow of transfer enthusiasts. Let's not deny that they were treated to a good viewing, after all.

However, I hate to be that glass half empty guy but... Would the fanbase really be delighted with signing Alejandro Garnacho? For £50m? I don't think everybody would.

Yes, there will be those who see signing a Premier League rival in January as a great achievement. They'd be right. That said, for a price like that, there are many better players than Garnacho. Let's not kid ourselves here.
