Chelsea have a brand new look to their forward lineup this season following some major changes to their frontline. The club have brought in two new centre-forwards in the form of Liam Delap and Joao Pedro. Additionally, they have also said goodbye to Nicolas Jackson. who has been sent on loan to Bayern Munich with an option to buy, and Christopher Nkunku, who permanently joined AC Milan.

However, despite these changes, the club have faced some difficulties due to a lack of depth in that position, which has been made worse by the recent injury to Delap. As a result, Chelsea could unsurprisingly go ahead and sign another striker in the subsequent transfer windows.

Bologna’s Santiago Castro is one of the names who has been linked with a possible move to Chelsea in the future. But recently, reports have emerged suggesting that the player might not be open to a transfer to Stamford Bridge.

Speaking to La Gazzetta Dello Sport (via Get Football News Italyl, Castro was asked about the rumours linking him to Chelsea, to which he calmly said:

"I’ve always thought about Bologna. I’m happy to be able to do it. At this Bologna, you have fun playing football. And when you’re having fun, things get better."

Castro had reportedly also been approached by Saudi clubs, but the player expressed his desire to continue developing at Bologna. The Argentine joined the Italian club from Velez Sarsfield for €13.2 million in January of 2024 and seems to have enjoyed his time there so far.

This season, Castro has appeared in seven matches and scored just one goal. Although it's true that the player is only 21 years old, these kinds of figures would not be enough to make the cut at Chelsea, who might consider dropping the Argentine from their plans, especially given the player's recent stance of wanting to stay in Italy.

Nevertheless, there’s still some time left before the transfer window reopens. For now, Chelsea should focus on how to maximise their performance with the current squad which is one of the best in the Premier League and bring home some trophies.
