Most Chelsea fans want to see the club change up their transfer policy and focus on adding some experience to this team. Since the change in ownership, with the exception of that 2022 summer transfer window, rarely have the Blues tried bringing in proven names to the club, instead focusing on the most talented youngsters in world football.

On some occasions, it has worked out. Cole Palmer and Moises Caicedo have developed into world-class players. But other than that, would any current player on the Chelsea team walk into the Liverpool starting XI?

Probably a fully fit Reece James and Marc Cucurella would. But other than that, it is hard to think of anybody else.

But what if Chelsea go out and sign one of Liverpool's players, who has already proven himself as a Premier League-winning centre-back? That would certainly take this squad several steps forward and add something to this defence that it has been missing since Thiago Silva left.

Ibrahima Konate's current deal with Liverpool is set to run out next summer. And Chelsea have been tipped to make an offer for him, if the opportunity was there to do so. As reported by TBR Football, Graeme Bailey said:

"Richard Hughes, though, has gone head-to-head with Europe’s finest this summer, bringing in the likes of Isak, Kerkez and Ekitike – Liverpool fear nobody, both on the pitch or off it.

“But with Konate, they are aware that it is not just the likes of Madrid and Munich who could try and make him an offer, but they accept that – why wouldn’t someone like Chelsea make an offer if he is available on a free? Although clearly they hope it does not get to that point."

Liverpool are clearly the team to beat in the Premier League right now. So, if Chelsea can go out and sign one of their starters, it would have to be viewed as a double boost for the Blues.

It is not going to be a simple task though. Firstly, there is a good possibility that Liverpool might be able to find an agreement with him. But even if they don't, there are clubs like Real Madrid and Manchester City, who have also been linked with him. And no matter who you support, one has to admit that those are more attractive destinations than Stamford Bridge at this point in time.
