Chelsea have built a reputation for signing the best young talents around world football since their change in ownership. Often, the club have overlooked experience in favour of signing wonderkids. That strategy has not gone down well with a large section of the fanbase but it looks like the Blues are intent on sticking to it.

This summer, we saw them sign two left wingers. Jamie Gittens was brought in from Borussia Dortmund while Alejandro Garnacho arrived from Manchester United. Neither has convinced so far.

But it looks like Chelsea are already looking towards signing another left winger. And a Nigerian wonderkid is in their sights. There is competition for his signature though as he is also wanted by London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

As reported by TEAMtalk, Chelsea asked for information on Suleiman Sani. Enquiries were made by Tottenham Hotspur earlier this month.

Sani currently plays for Slovakian side AS Trencin. He was also a standout for Nigeria at the recent U-20 World Cup.

Sani has been putting up some impressive numbers for Trencin in Slovakia this season. The 19-year-old winger has scored two goals and provided three assists in seven appearances in this campaign so far.

Of course, it remains to be seen if he can maintain his form. On the other hand, Chelsea's interest in the player will not come as a surprise to anyone. Sani is exactly the type of talent that you would expect the Blues to have on their radar.

Do not be surprised if Chelsea go out and sign him in the future, before sending him out on loan to Strasbourg in order to develop. Or perhaps the French side could sign Sani themselves with the possibility of a move to Stamford Bridge in the future if he can prove himself.
