Even as Chelsea prepare to take on Champions League winners PSG in the Club World Cup final this Sunday, the summer transfer operations are not stopping as the Blues continue to spin the wheels behind the scenes. Although they have already signed several new players, it's now time for the departures.
One of the most recent and high-profile departures, Noni Madueke is expected to join Arsenal for around £52m. On the other hand, recent reports suggest that the Blues are once again looking to sign a player from a club they've already done business with this summer.
Chelsea like to sign fluid players, capable of playing in several positions across the pitch. And one Borussia Dortmund player fits the bill perfectly.
As reported by BILD (via The Hard Tackle), Chelsea and Newcastle United are both keen on signing Karim Adeyemi. Borussia Dortmund have no intentions of parting with him this summer and will only listen to offers between €65-€70 million.
Chelsea want €70m Borussia Dortmund ace after signing Jamie Gittens
Adeyemi joined Dortmund during the summer of 2022, after proving himself at Red Bull Salzburg. Over the past three seasons, he has only become better, solidifying his position as a key member of their starting lineup. This season, he has made 41 appearances across all competitions, scoring 12 goals and assisting 11 times.
These stats are almost similar to his former teammate Jamie Gittens, whom the Blues signed recently. And Dortmund are again expected to prove tough negotiators, if Chelsea do make another move.
Although BVB's asking price is undoubtedly high, Chelsea are aware that if they want to bring in a player of the same or even higher calibre, they will have to reinvest the money they are getting from the Madueke transfer. However, with Estevao coming in while Pedro Neto is finding his best form, do they even need to go out and splash on a replacement?
