Thankfully it appears that the dishonest and idiotic Cole Palmer injury rumours doing the rounds on social media are in fact untrue. It has been claimed on Twitter, or X, that the Chelsea attacker will miss the crucial upcoming game against Premier League rivals Arsenal. Furthermore, it was said that the England man may be out for up to three weeks, including the international break and possibly beyond.
However, that ridiculous hearsay appears to be completely unsubstantiated, happily for supporters of the west London side and the Three Lions. One believable report which also comes from a reliable source suggests the star himself and Chels' staff are hoping he'll be fit to face Arsenal in the weekend's big match. So, what nonsense was put out? And which declarations can fans actually trust?
Cole Palmer rumours clearly a load of rubbish
Some small X accounts, along with a few larger ones, are making wildly spurious statements about Cole Palmer. I know what you're thinking: 'What else is new?!'.
Well, before fake news permeates the Chelsea fan base, The Pride of London decided to attempt to distinguish the false information. In addition to that, we'd like to publish more trustworthy and genuine details surrounding the forward.
We have attached two accounts which profess bogus particulars on Palmer. As you can see below, the pair cite legitimate Chels' reporter Matt Law for their respective but disrespectful disclaimers:
And here:
Indeed, the posts both contain fraudulent Law quotes saying Palmer is unavailable for selection versus the Gunners. And that the 22-year-old won't be available for his current national boss Lee Carsley to select either. This assessment would also mean the generational talent might perhaps not make the Leicester City or Heidenheim matches.
The real story for Chelsea fans
Irrespective of this irresponsible speculation, there is actual insight into the player's condition from reliable journalists for us to examine. But prior to that, here is a brief recap.
If you weren't aware, Palmer was involved in an ugly incident with reckless Manchester United and Argentina defender Lisandro Martinez. Martinez, who regularly puts fellow professionals at risk, stuck and ran his studs down his opponents' shins unnecessarily. The Red Devils man was not dismissed by the referee, although that appears to be the incorrect decision.
Two affirmations on Palmer's actual status have emerged from Blues writers at The Telegraph and The Standard:
"Midfielder was not included in Europa Conference League squad but aims to be fit to start against Arsenal on SundayMatt Law, Football News Correspondent
Cole Palmer is expected to have a scan on the injury that left him limping out of Old Trafford, with Chelsea hoping he suffered a lucky escape."
