Every Chelsea supporter would love the Blues to make some fitting signings this month. The west London club are on the verge of challenging for trophies again. But manager Enzo Maresca must be backed with the reinforcements he considers able to improve the squad. Some parts of the CFC team are satisfactory such as full backs, midfielders and wingers.
But if you ask me, the areas requiring immediate improvements are: goalkeeper, centre back and central striker. Will further additions arrive soon? Well, it appears even prominent Chels footballers are up for new teammates joining in the January window. Superstar Blue Cole Palmer apparently liked an Instagram post regarding a potentially notable acquisition.
Manchester United report concerns Chelsea
If you weren't aware, Manchester United are said to be in trouble off the pitch as well as on it. They must comply with Profit and Sustainability Rules, just like every other Premier League club. The Red Devils will reportedly listen to offers from rival sides for any and all of their roster.
I find that assessment hard to believe in its entirety, to be honest. However, the assertion may be partly true, meaning bargains are probably there to be had. Are any United standouts needed at Stamford Bridge? And should Chelsea try to sign one England international in particular with homegrown athletes supposedly available?
Maybe the Blues can strike while the Red Devils are down
If you could take your pick of United players back in the day, it'd be like Christmas morning. Pickings are currently slimmer at Old Trafford. Although, one or two of Man Utd's stars remain viable Chelsea targets.
Alejandro Garnacho is a wildcard but still very young and talented. Bruno Fernandes is gifted, but I can't see Chels targeting him. Though Kobbie Mainoo may become a real gem.
If Mainoo departs, CFC reportedly lead the pack of admirers. Cole Palmer definitely rates him. The only problem is that plenty of quality midfielders already play for the Blues.
"The surprise Kobbie Mainoo to Chelsea rumours look to be gathering pace. The Standard
On Tuesday, the Daily Mail reported that the Blues would lead the race for the England midfielder’s services if he decided to leave Manchester United, having apparently been disappointed with contract terms on offer at Old Trafford.
What’s more, David Ornstein of The Athletic has now claimed that United would reluctantly consider selling homegrown stars such as Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho to help comply with financial rules.
Cole Palmer seems to have liked an Instagram post asking if Chelsea would be a good move for Three Lions team-mate Mainoo, while there are other reports tonight that United are willing to listen to serious offers for anyone in their squad this month..."
