Things are moving especially fast this summer. Chelsea have already completed the signing of Liam Delap, while a move for Jamie Gittens might not be far away either. There are also other positions where the Blues are looking to improve. On the other hand, there are plenty of playes headed for the Stamford Bridge exit door as well.

One of the most popular journeys in recent years for those leaving Chelsea has been a move to Arsenal. And it looks like Kepa Arrizabalaga is set to follow the same path as former teammates Kai Havertz, Jorginho, David Luiz and Willian.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Kepa completed his medical at Arsenal on Wednesday, and formal steps will now follow. The £5m release clause has already been activated.

This will conclude one of the most fascinating careers in Chelsea history. Kepa was signed by the club in 2018 for a £72 million fee, a goalkeeping record that stands to this day. He was brought in as the replacement for Thibaut Courtois. While the Belgian has gone on to establish himself as arguably the best goalie in the world at Real Madrid since then, the Spaniard has never met expectations at Stamford Bridge.

Of course, Chelsea wants will not be unhappy about Kepa's exit. It is something that has been coming for a while with the Spaniard spending the last two seasons away on loan.

To be honest, Kepa is only going to be a backup goalkeeper for Arsenal. So, Chelsea have not significantly strengthened their London rivals here.

On the other hand, Chelsea fans will be hoping that this is another sign that the club are looking to sign another goalkeeper this summer. They tried to bring in Mike Maignan earlier but a fee could not be agreed with AC Milan despite only one year remaining on his contract.
