Chelsea have been largely successful in this transfer window in fulfilling their requirements. That said, they were recently handed a major setback by Tottenham Hotspur, who swooped in to sign Xavi Simons, whom the Blues had been linked with for weeks and had even agreed personal terms with. Nevertheless, the Blues still have the signing of Alejandro Garnacho to focus on, and they also need to find clubs for some of their current crop of players, with time running out.

Tyrique George is one of the players linked with a move away recently. It was previously reported that AS Roma, along with RB Leipzig, were interested in the player, with the former even reaching out to Chelsea for the same.

Now, it looks like a Premier League club have entered the race for George as well. And it would be a short trip for him, if a move did materialise.

According to Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth (via Give Me Sport), Crystal Palace are one of the sides keeping an eye on George. The youngster has other options as well, with Fulham also interested, along with Bayern Munich, who have explored the idea of a loan deal. Chelsea prefer a permanent transfer.

Chelsea have signed Jamie Gittens this summer. Additionally, they are also close to securing the signing of Garnacho from Manchester United. On the opposite flank, they have an in-form Pedro Neto and an impressive Estevao. So naturally, George’s game time, having appeared in 26 matches in the previous campaign, could decrease quite a bit.

At 19 years of age, the player needs regular game time to improve, and it seems like that will be difficult to achieve at Stamford Bridge. So, an exit might make sense for him.

George is a Chelsea academy graduate, and fans would have loved to see him succeed at Stamford Bridge. But at this point, it just does not seem to be on the cards. So, a move away might be the best step for everybody involved.
