Chelsea suffered a lot of troubles when it came to their left flank last season. The reason was Mykhailo Mudryk’s suspension since December, with no known return date, and Jadon Sancho failing to perform consistently. As a result, the club made the reinforcement of the position a priority and have successfully done so by securing the signing of Jamie Gittens this transfer window and are further expected to bring in Alejandro Garnacho as well.

Meanwhile, Noni Madueke, who played a major role covering on the left flank despite his preferred position on the right, has already departed for Arsenal. Now, another winger is expected to follow suit, with AS Roma showing interest.

The player in question is 19-year-old Tyrique George. He had a role to play last season but is believed to be keen on an exit this summer in search of consistent playing time.

According to Fabrizio Romano, AS Roma had positive talks with George’s camp in London. He can join AS Roma on a permanent deal with a heavy sell-on clause, talks are underway.

AS Roma interested in Chelsea’s Tyrique George and holding talks to sign him

George appeared in 26 matches last season in all competitions following his promotion to the first team in December. He scored three goals along with providing five assists for the Blues.

However, moving forward, his game time is expected to shrink, especially with the addition of Gittens and the likely arrival of Garnacho. There’s also the factor of Estevao performing well, which will cause the manager to start Pedro Neto on the left flank every now and then, given that the Portuguese international is in stellar form as well.

Chelsea fans hoped for the academy player to have succeeded at Stamford Bridge, but given the intense competition at the position currently, it seems better for George to seek his future elsewhere. It might help the Blues as well.

With multiple clubs interested in the youngster, Chelsea could generate considerable funds from his exit. In his short tenure, George has helped the Blues whenever called upon. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours.
