Chelsea have had a successful transfer window so far in terms of arrivals. They have already signed Liam Delap, Joao Pedro, Jamie Gittens, and Jorrel Hato. Additionally, the club have also welcomed Estevao and Dario Essugo, whose signings were agreed in the past. That said, the Blues are still eyeing moves for Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho.

While it has been widely believed that Chelsea would not make any moves for either player until they sanctioned some departures, that does not stop them from continuing to lay the foundations for a deal. And one of those signings certainly looks closer than the other.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are advancing in club-to-club talks with Manchester United for Alejandro Garnacho and a deal is underway. The player only wants to move to Stamford Bridge and has turned down an approach from Bayern Munich in the last 48 hours.

Garnacho has been linked with a move to Chelsea since the winter transfer window. With this latest development, the move is expected to be going in the right direction and getting closer to materialising.

With the latest performance from Chelsea’s new signing Gittens in the matchup against Crystal Palace, it was clearly evident that the English winger needs some more time to settle down. As a result, the arrival of Garnacho would really provide Enzo Maresca with options on the left flank.

The youngster has been looking for a way out of Old Trafford since the start of the summer. Garnacho had seen his playing time limited under Ruben Amorim last season and seems to be completely out of the plans right now.

Garnacho has suffered from a dip in form in recent times but there’s little doubt regarding the talent possessed by the Argentine international. Moreover, the move to Chelsea will provide a much-needed fresh start to the player. It remains to be seen if he can rise up to the occasion. Anyway, a deal isn’t finalised as of yet, but fans will be expecting the signature ‘Here we go’ from Romano soon.
