Chelsea will be happy with the progress they made in this transfer window, having secured the signings of Liam Delap, Joao Pedro, Jamie Gittens and Jorrel Hato. Moreover, the club are expected to complete the deals for Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho as well in the near future, if they can sanction a few exits before that.

Meanwhile, Newcastle United, who finished just a place below Chelsea in the Premier League, have struggled to fulfil their requirement for a new man up front. Their primary striker, Alexander Isak, is pushing for a move, prompting the Magpies to find a replacement soon.

According to Marc Mechenoua (via Get French Football News), Newcastle United have re-entered the race to sign Christopher Nkunku from Chelsea this summer. The Frenchman is attracting interest from teams like Bayern Munich and Inter Milan as well.

Interestingly, Nkunku isn’t the only Chelsea player on Newcastle’s radar. Nicolas Jackson and Axel Disasi have also been linked with a move to the club this summer.

Newcastle United reportedly interested in Chelsea’s Christopher Nkunku

Nkunku, who has been expected to leave Stamford Bridge since the start of the summer, is taking longer to secure a move than initially anticipated. As a result of this delay, Chelsea risk losing him for a reduced fee as the transfer deadline is getting closer.

Chelsea are looking to speed things up in the departures department so that they can raise some funds and clear out space to bring in Simons and Garnacho. Without the departure of Nkunku, who was brought in by Chelsea for €60 million back in 2023, those deals are stuck as well.

Although Bayern Munich have been one of the most likely destinations for the French international, Newcastle could also be a potential option if the player prefers to stay in the Premier League. But nothing is certain as of yet, so we’ll have to wait and see where Nkunku finally ends up.
