Are the Chelsea hierarchy being proved right for changing manager when they did? Back on 1 January, Enzo Maresca departed "by mutual consent", this the first time ever a Premier League club have changed manager on New Years' Day.

Thus, following a season and a half in charge of BlueCo's other club Strasbourg, Liam Rosenior was appointed as Maresca's successor, a decision met with much scepticism, but so far he has proved himself to be the right man for the job.

On Saturday night, following a diabolical first half, the Blues fought back from 2-0 down to beat West Ham United 3-2 at Stamford Bridge. Having already beaten Brentford and Crystal Palace, Rosenior has become only the fourth Englishman to win their first three Premier League matches as a head coach. The others are Bobby Gould, Sam Allardyce and Craig Shakespeare, which is an illustrious company to keep.

Enzo Fernández, the scorer of the injury time winner at the weekend, has been speaking this week, including revealing how he feels about life under the new boss.

What Enzo Fernández had to say about Liam Rosenior

This week marks three years since Fernández joined Chelsea from Benfica, doing so having just won the World Cup with Argentina. The £106.8 million paid to secure his services remains the fifth-highest transfer fee of all-time, behind only Neymar, Kylian Mbappé, Alexander Isak and João Félix.

The midfielder stated the following to mark the anniversary:

"I am really proud of my three years here, because I arrived at a very difficult time for the club with many changes and coaches coming and going, but I am happy with how things are going."

Speaking about the club's current situation Fernández had this to say:

"Even though there has been a recent change of coach, football is always like this. I try to adapt to whatever the team needs at any given moment to help the club. I always give my all every day to help my team-mates. I feel like I am doing very well on a personal level, and hopefully we will end this season with one or two trophies."

Since Rosenior's arrival, the Argentine international has started every Champions League and Premier League fixture, very much a key figure. When asked about the new boss, he said:

"The results under the new coach are there for all to see. He hasn't been with us very long, and his ideas are already very clear. We're very happy with him and with the confidence he gives us every day."

Next up in the Premier League, Chelsea will travel to bottom of the table Wolves on Saturday, before hosting relegation threatened Leeds United next Tuesday. Thus, currently fifth in the table, these two winnable games means there is a great opportunity for the Blues to cement their place in the top five.
