Liam Rosenior will be delighted with how his first seven games in charge have gone.

Since replacing Enzo Maresca at the start of the year, Rosenior, who joined from Strasbourg, has gone on a near-perfect run, winning all but one match in all competitions.

The Blues are fighting on multiple fronts, including in the Champions League, and while the demands of the fixture schedule plague every team, the Chelsea head coach is adamant he has no concerns with how his squad can cope.

Liam Rosenior blown away by 'gifted' Enzo Fernandez

Undoubtedly one of Chelsea's most important players, Enzo Fernandez has proven his importance by playing more minutes than any other player this season.

And with a tough Carabao Cup semi-final second-leg 3-2 deficit to overturn on Tuesday night, Fernandez will almost certainly be called upon again.

Rosenior isn't worried about overpaying the Argentina International, though. In fact, the 41-year-old, who spoke to Chelsea's official website, has been blown away by the midfielder's physicality.

"He’s as fit as you saw against West Ham, arriving in the box in the 92nd minute.

Enzo's got a rare athleticism, it’s a gift where he can recover really quickly. The distances he covers, in terms of the data, is absolutely top, as is the quality and the leadership he gives the team.

I'm really enjoying working with him."

Given his manager's words, Fernandez is expected to form the usual two-man pivot in midfield with Moises Caicedo at the Emirates.

Fernandez won't be going anywhere anytime soon

Fernandez's importance to Chelsea is becoming increasingly obvious, and after proving he can adapt to the notoriously fast-paced and physical Premier League, it comes as little surprise to see the South American linked with a host of other top clubs, including Real Madrid.

According to a recent report from Spanish outlet OK Diario, Fernandez is interested in playing for Los Blancos and has 'been offered' to Alvaro Arbeloa's side.

These reports, likely agent-driven, should be taken with a pinch of salt, though. The 25-year-old is under contract until 2032, and while an enhanced deal is probably top of his representatives' agenda, Fernandez will appreciate the key role he'll continue to play under Rosenior.

Nevertheless, if Fernandez is serious about playing for Madrid one day, the best chance he'll give himself of doing so will be to continue to be the first name on the Stamford Bridge teamsheet.
