It had its ups and downs but ultimately, 24/25 proved to be a successful season for Chelsea, and they overachieved in many ways. The Blues secured Champions League qualification by finishing fourth. Simply that would have been a sign of progress in the eyes of most. But then, they went on to win both the Club World Cup and the Conference League. Of course, at Stamford Bridge, nothing matters more than winning trophies.

Now, the focus is on strengthening this team further and making sure that they can compete for the biggest prizes in football for years to come. But unfortunately, it looks like one of the club's brightest players is eyeing the exit door out of nowhere.

The likes of Christopher Nkunku, Renato Veiga, Axel Disasi, Ben Chilwell and a few others are expected to leave this summer. Those exits are understandable as well. But now, it looks like the name of Tyrique George has been added to that list.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, George wants to leave Chelsea this month. A permanent move is also possible. Although the Blues prefer to keep him, they accept his desire for regular football. RB Leipzig and Borussia Monchengladbach are among the clubs which are keen.

George is actually coming off a season in which he played more football than most expected. He made 26 appearances, scoring 3 goals and providing 5 assists. That includes a goal against Fulham, which many view as the turning point of the Blues' campaign.

That being said, it is also understandable why George might be considering his options. Chelsea have already signed Jamie Gittens this summer, and Estevao was always set to arrive as well. On top of that, they are being heavily linked with both Alejandro Garnacho and Xavi Simons.

Those kinds of additions do not suggest that Chelsea are viewing George as a key contributor next season. So, it is not hard to understand why he might be keen to go out and get regular football where he can, whether it be on loan or on a permanent basis.

To be very honest, this Chelsea transfer model makes it especially difficult for academy graduates to break into the first-team picture. That is because the new signings are youngsters themselves and in similar points in their careers, but a lot more likely to get opportunities due to the investment made to bring them in.
