Chelsea, as expected, are having a busy summer transfer window, as they look to let a number of players go in order to revamp their squad. The lineup may be very different from what we've seen in recent weeks by the time the 2025–26 season begins. In fact, the Blues have already started to ring in the changes.

Liam Delap has joined from Ipswich Town for £30 million. The 22-year-old striker's arrival has been officially announced.

After signing Delap, the Blues are currently looking for a winger, specifically a right-footed player to play on the left flank. Chelsea are believed to have Borussia Dortmund's Jamie Gittens.

Gittens had previously been considered by the Blues in January, but Borussia Dortmund were not ready to part with the English youngster at the time. However, it looks like the Blues are back in for him.

Gittens, who previously trained in Chelsea's youth system, has established himself in Germany, after leaving Manchester City's academy for Borussia Dortmund in 2020. He finished the 2024/25 season with 12 goals and 5 assists in 48 games.

Chelsea are now pursuing Gittens in an effort to bolster their wing depth prior to the start of their Club World Cup campaign. And it looks like a bid could be on the way.

Speaking on DAZN Football regarding the situation of Chelsea, Gittens and Borussia Dortmund, Fabrizio Romano said:

"My understanding is that Chelsea have started concrete conversations with Borussia Dortmund. Waiting for an official bid to come quite soon, it's going to be in excess of £35 million from what I'm hearing."

However, other teams like Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City, and Bayern Munich are also interested in the 20-year-old, although Chelsea's is thought to be the most advanced for the time being. Gittens appears to be an excellent fit for the Blues' needs right now, as Jadon Sancho has been sent back to Manchester United. Now, it remains to be seen if they can get a deal over the line.
