Chelsea fans are starting to get a bit worried about the lack of movement when it comes to signings in recent weeks. It feels like the Blues have been linked with Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho for a while now, without any meaningful progress being made. For a while it has been claimed that the incomings depend on outgoings.

There have been plenty of outgoings though. The likes of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Armando Broja, Lesley Ugochukwu and quite a few others have completed moves away from Stamford Bridge in recent weeks.

So, it is understandable why some Chelsea fans are growing a bit impatient with the entire situation. But that does not mean that things are not being worked on behind the scenes.

Interestingly, now, it appears that the chances of Garnacho joining Chelsea are higher than Simons, even though the club want to bring in both. While speaking on his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano said:

"I think Garnacho will 100% happen. For Xavi Simons, negotiations ongoing. Waiting for the exit of Nkunku."

Chelsea trying to sign Garnacho has divided the opinion of the club's supporters. A large section does not want the move to happen while there are certainly some who have warmed up to the idea of it.

Of course, there are the general concerns about whether he is good enough to be a regular starter for Chelsea. If not, why spend a significant transfer fee to sign him?

Well, for starters, there is the possibility that the club could move him on for a higher figure in the summer. But that does not mean that there are no concerns regarding his attitude. Then again, that seems to be a common theme at Manchester United these days. Jadon Sancho clearly was a popular figure during his time at Stamford Bridge.

It is very possible that Garnacho ends up fulfilling his potential at Chelsea. We have already gotten a glimpse of what Jamie Gittens brings to the table on the left flank. One thing he is not at this point is efficient.

On the other hand, Garnacho can impact a game in the final third. He was not at his best last season but still managed 21 goal contributions. And then there is his ability to pull something extraordinary out of thin air, like that overhead kick. Combine everything else with the fact that he is expected to be available for a bargain fee, and this idea does not look as bad as some are making it out to be.
