Chelsea are back in the top four in the Premier League table following their 2-0 victory over Everton this weekend. Enzo Maresca will be more than happy with the team’s overall display. Cole Palmer opened the scoring in the 21st minute, before Malo Gusto slotted in the second just before the break to seal the three points for the Blues.
Chelsea have struggled to maintain momentum this season, and a major reason behind that has been the injury crisis. Fortunately, the squad is slowly regaining its strength as a number of important players return from the sidelines.
Palmer, who had also been on that list due to a nagging groin issue, is now back on the field, and the positive effects are clearly visible on the team. Meanwhile, his teammate Wesley Fofana has heaped praise on Chelsea's No. 10 after their win against Everton.
As reported by Express, Fofana has stated that:
"He is close with the guys like Mbappe and Dembele. He is very, very close. I play with very good players for the national team and play against very good players. He is top. He is on a different planet and we are very happy to have him with us."
Fofana believes Chelsea player is on par with Mbappe and Dembele
Palmer has been one of the best signings, if not the best, for Chelsea under the new ownership. The England international was up and running in no time for the Blues following his arrival from Manchester City in 2023.
Since joining, the 23-year-old has already accumulated 46 goals and 29 assists for Chelsea in 104 appearances across all competitions. As fans already know, Palmer also played a crucial role in the Club World Cup final when the Blues defeated Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 to be crowned world champions.
Nevertheless, it is great news for Chelsea that their superstar is back on the pitch. However, it’s important not to rush Palmer and to give him enough rest to avoid a recurrence of his groin issue. A major part of the season is still to come, and the availability of the English No. 10 will be vital during that period.
