One thing that Chelsea are missing at the moment is a world-class striker who will goals for them on a consistent basis. Of course, many might argue that it is possible to win without one in the modern game. PSG lifted the Champions League last season while playing Ousmane Dembele centrally, something that they were not able to do when they had the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Edinson Cavani and Kylian Mbappe.
Then again, life in the Premier League is different. Just look at how much of a difference Erling Haaland makes for Manchester City. Chelsea could do with someone of that quality.
Well, there is probably only one other striker in world football capable of producing those numbers. And that is Harry Kane, who has scored 110 times in 117 matches for Bayern Munich and 25 in 21 appearances this season.

Then again, constantly signing young players means that they might find themselves stuck in one situation. Hoping to win tomorrow rather doing so today.
At some point, though, that will need to change. And Maresca might know that he has a limited amount of time to deliver those big successes at Chelsea, which is why he might be keen to bring in someone like Kane and take this team to the next level immediately.
