With only three days left of the summer window, the transfer business has taken a fast track at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea still want to bring in a couple more players before the window closes, so they've recently been more focused on departures to clear space in the squad and raise funds for further additions. And as per the latest updates, there has been a boost regarding this.

One of the players who has been anticipated to leave this summer is Christopher Nkunku. He signed a six-year contract with Chelsea after joining from RB Leipzig for £52m in 2023, but has struggled to establish himself in West London. His stint at Stamford Bridge has been marred by injuries, a lack of chances and inconsistent performances.

Nkunku has made 62 appearances for Chelsea, registering 18 goals and five assists. However, he does not seem to be in Enzo Maresca's future plans. He was also left out of the first two Premier League matchday squads, indicating a potential departure this summer.

The French international has been linked with a number of teams this summer, including Manchester United, Bayern Munich, and RB Leipzig. And until a few days ago, it appeared like the German club was winning the race for him, but things changed when AC Milan transformed their past interest into a solid offer.

'Here we go' - Chelsea accept €42m offer from AC Milan

Fabrizio Romano has given Nkunku to AC Milan his famous 'here we go'. The total package can reach €42m, add-ons included. Chelsea have accepted an initial fixed fee higher than €35m.

The Athletic's David Ornstein has also confirmed that AC Milan have reached an agreement with Chelsea to sign Nkunku for €42m plus a sell-on clause. Permission has been granted to travel and personal terms are in place.

As for Chelsea, this is a decent deal for a player who they were trying to part ways with all summer. Additionally, it will also boost their chances of getting deals done for their remaining transfer targets like Alejandro Garnacho and Xavi Simons, with merely days left in the window.
