There is finally some good news for Chelsea in the transfer market. The Blues have had a tough time getting deals done in this winter window. They have trying to bring in Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes but there seems to be a wide gap between what they are willing to pay and what the French club would like to part ways with their wonderkid.

On the other hand, Douglas Luiz has emerged as a surprise target as well. But any move could be complicated as the Blues are not willing to have an obligation to buy at the end of his loan deal.

Amid all this, Chelsea have been successful in agreeing one deal. And in order to do so, they have had to beat out the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool, both of whom were also reported to be interested in the player.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign Yisa Alao from Sheffield Wednesday. The Italian journalist has given it his famous 'here we go'. The initial fee will be over £500,000 plus heavy add-ons.

Alao has only made five senior appearances for Sheffield Wednesday so far. So, the left-back must have been extremely impressive at youth level to have been drawing the interest of clubs like Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and more.

Alao is still just 17 years of age. So, there is little to no chance that he is being viewed as someone capable of making an impact on the first-team from the get-go.

Chelsea might be looking at him as a future option in that position though. Marc Cucurella is 27 years of age and should have plenty left in the tank. By the time he enters his downward trajectory, Alao might be ready to take his place in the team, if his development goes according to plan.
