Chelsea are expected to remain very busy over the next week or so, with not much time left in the summer transfer window. The Blues are still planning to make additions to their side with deals for Alejandro Garnacho and Xavi Simons being worked on for weeks. But for those to take place, some departures will need to be sanctioned first.

Admittedly, Chelsea are very good at that side of the transfer business as well. And they have now been able to engineer another player's permanent move away from Stamford Bridge, for a decent fee as well.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Carney Chukwuemeka to Borussia Dortmund is here we go. Deal done and plan confirmed. Chelsea are set to receive a fee of around €25m with add-ons and a heavy sell-on clause is also included, which was key in the deal.

It is believed that Chelsea had paid around £20 million to sign Chukwuemeka from Aston Villa. So, that is not much of a transfer profit. But, the sell-on clause means that there could be a windfall in the future. And with Borussia Dortmund's record of developing players, do not rule that out.

Chukwuemeka is a talented player for sure. And early on in Mauricio Pochettino's time as manager of Chelsea, it had looked like he was a contender for a starting spot.

Chukwuemeka would end up getting injured though. By the time he was back available, Cole Palmer had established himself at Stamford Bridge. The rest is history.

Chukwuemeka had already spent time out on loan at Borussia Dortmund. He impressed them enough for the German giants to make a permanent move for him this summer.

Now, the time has come for Chelsea and Chukwuemeka to part ways. We can only wish him the best of luck in this new adventure.
