There are a lot of things that Chelsea need to be competing with the best teams in England and Europe right now. We will find a lot about where they stand over the next few weeks as they are set to welcome Barcelona and Arsenal to Stamford Bridge. Considering how weak the Blues have looked defensively when put under any kind of pressure, and in the potential absence of Cole Pamer, we are not too confident about Enzo Maresca's side's chances to be very honest.
One of the things that Chelsea need right now, and have been missing since Diego Costa left, is an out-and-out goalscorer. Someone who will give you 25 goals a season, no matter what happens.
Look at the effect Erling Haaland has on Manchester City. He has scored 19 goals in 15 games this season. As a result, even though Pep Guardiola's side are not playing brilliantly at the moment, they still find themselves in a strong position.
Imagine what kind of effect that kind of goalscorer would have on Chelsea. Of course, we understand that there is only one Haaland. That being said, one can hope get someone close. How about one of his former teammates?
Julian Alvarez makes decision regarding Chelsea move
Julian Alvarez has been linked with a move to Chelsea recently. He is among the best strikers in Europe right now. He might not be as prolific as Haaland but he has 50 goal contributions since joining Atletico Madrid in August of 2024.
Unfortunately for Chelsea, it looks like a move might not be on the cards. As reported by Sky Sport, Alavrez no longer considers a return to the Premier League, where he feels he has already given his all.
Of course, that is bad news for Chelsea's hopes of signing him. Then again, people change their minds all the time. So, while a move is improbable, it should not be considered completely impossible.
