A number of signings that Chelsea have made under the new ownership have not worked out and the club are already prepared to part ways with several such players. One of the problem areas has emerged as their defence. Marc Cucurella has developed into a top left-back while Levi Colwill is showing signs of growth. Reece James is phenomenal when fit but has plenty of injury problems.
The other centre-back position is a problem they do not have the solution to. Wesley Fofana continues to deal with one injury after another and it might be time to move on from him.
Fofana is not the only one who has failed to meet expectations since arriving at Chelsea though. The same can be said about Axel Disasi.
Signed for a transfer fee believed to be in the region of €45 million from AS Monaco, Disasi was expected to establish himself as Chelsea's leader at the back. But he has never looked like an assured figure in the heart of defence. He spent the second half of the previous campaign out on loan at Aston Villa and the time might have come for him to leave on a permanent basis.
Juventus make contact to sign €45m Chelsea defender
There is interest in the French international despite his shaky performances in the Premier League. As reported by Mirko Di Natale, in the last few hours, Juventus are among the clubs that have made enquiries about Disasi. The Bianconeri are monitoring a defender with his characteristics
Juventus already have one Chelsea defender on loan. Renato Veiga has done very well since joining the Italian club. Now, it appears that they have their eyes on another one.
Disasi's strengths might be better suited to Serie A than the Premier League. As a result, a move to Juventus might make sense for all parties involved.
