Despite having one of the largest squads in world football, Chelsea are without many of their first-team players.
The Blues are currently missing eight senior players, including Mykhailo Mudryk, who faces a four year suspension following a positive doping test.
Elsewhere, Levi Colwill (anterior cruciate ligament), Beniot Badiashile (illness), Jamie Gittens (thigh), Malo Gusto (illness), Reece James (hamstring) and Trevoh Chalobah (ankle), who got injured against PSG earlier this week, are also in the treatment room.
Back-up goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen is another who is ruled out. The Danish shot-stopper suffered a groin injury in the wake of Chelsea's 4-1 win over Aston Villa earlier this month.
Liam Rosenior confirms Filip Jorgensen surgery
Amid Jorgensen's latest setback, Liam Rosenior has recently revealed the extent of the 23-year-old's problem.
Speaking to Chelsea's official website about how the Danish keeper's recovery is going, Rosenior confirmed the player has undergone surgery and won't be back for another few weeks.
"Unfortunately, Filip had his scan and needed a minor operation.
Nothing too serious again, it's a matter of weeks."
Although Jorgensen is just the latest in a long line of unfortunate absentees, the Chelsea head coach has provided a more positive update on Colwill.
Levi Colwill back training following ACL injury
Colwill suffered an ACL injury during pre-season. The 23-year-old has missed the last seven months but Rosenior is hopeful he can return before the end of the season.
"With an ACL [recovery], he is hitting all the benchmarks he needs to, but we need to keep making sure he is going past certain levels.
It's brilliant to have his presence back on the training pitch, and while we want to see him back out there on the pitch as soon as possible, it has to be within the right timeframe.
He's still looking at a good while [before returning to first-team action] yet. Hopefully, that can be this season, which would be a massive boost."
Chelsea have just eight Premier League games left to play as well as an FA Cup quarter-final against Port Vale.
Colwill faces a race against time to be fit enough to feature before the end of the campaign. His full recovery is paramount, though, so fans may have to accept not seeing the Englishman in action again until pre-season.
The Blues' next match will see them travel to Merseyside on Saturday where they will face David Moyes' Everton. A win could see Rosenior's men draw level with fourth place Aston Villa on 51 points.
