Moises Caicedo is arguably the best midfielder in the world right now. If he is not, there are not too many ahead of him, that is for sure. After a slow start to life as a Chelsea player, he has come into his own and has been the club's best performer this season. That transfer fee the Blues paid to Brighton & Hove Albion seems pretty reasonable now.

Of course, Chelsea recently booked their place in the Club World Cup final with a 2-0 win over Fluminense. They will either face Real Madrid or PSG next.

The win became somewhat bittersweet as Caicedo appeared to pick up an injury late in the game. The replays made it look horrible and immediately there were fears that the Ecuadorian midfielder might end up missing the final.

Of course, Andrey Santos has impressed in his last couple of displays but Chelsea fans will want Caicedo on the pitch when taking on teams like Real Madrid or PSG. And there is a positive update regarding that.

Caicedo made a post on his Instagram after the win over Fluminense. The caption read: "See you on Sunday Blues."

Of course, that is a positive sign that the issue is not serious and Caicedo is hoping to play in the final. Enzo Maresca did not sound overly concerned after the game either, as he had said while speaking to DAZN:

"I told him that he has to do everything to be on the pitch on Sunday so we will see."

Of course, neither of those is a guarantee that Caicedo will be fit enough to play in the final. But at least they are positive signs that the injury is not as serious as most had feared.

Caicedo brings a balance to this team that Chelsea need if they want to win against big teams. Of course, plenty of others deserve credit as well. The most excitement right now will be around Joao Pedro though, who announced himself to the fans with a brace in the semi-final. Do Chelsea finally have a striker who will score consistent goals?
