Chelsea have had a promising beginning to the Premier League season and are currently second in the table, with two wins and a draw from the first three games. Enzo Maresca’s side will be hoping to maintain their strong form and push for the top spot when they return to action against Brentford next.

Meanwhile, Manchester City, who are also considered strong contenders for the Premier League title, have had a disappointing start to their campaign, winning just one of their three matches and currently sitting in 13th place. Amid these early trends, one of their players has heaped praise on a Chelsea star.

Omar Marmoush was signed by Manchester City in the middle of last season and he played his part in improving their faltering 24/25 campaign. So far, he has had his test of Premier League football.

Chelsea News reported that Marmoush has recently revealed the toughest opponent he has faced in the Premier League. The Egyptian international said:

"Until now, it was Reece James.  It was my first Premier League game. He’s fast, strong and has quality on the ball. He gave me a tough time. I haven’t played much in the Premier League yet, but I’ll say James for now."

James missed a significant number of games last season, being on the sidelines due to injuries. Thankfully, the player seems to have recovered well and is playing with more confidence and fitness as of now.

This season, James has appeared in all three matches but only once as a starter. So it’s evident that Maresca is taking a cautious approach with the player to not risk any more injury setbacks while also rewarding Malo Gusto's good form. The English international was even deployed in the midfield in the Club World Cup to limit his workload.

Anyway, it’s always great to receive commendation from players of rival clubs and James certainly deserves it. He has been key to the Blues' success recently. Chelsea currently have one of the best teams in the Premier League. As a result, fans are expecting the club to win silverware once again this campaign, and if possible, to bring the Champions League back to London.
