West Ham's relegation on the final day of last season has seen Jarrod Bowen heavily linked with leaving.

The 29-year-old is undoubtedly the Hammers' best, most valuable player and is definitely too good for the Championship. Although he was unlucky to be left out, many argued he should've been included in Thomas Tuchel's final 26-man England squad for this summer's World Cup.

Following Bowen's experience in the Premier League and Chelsea's need for a new winger amid Alejandro Garnacho's impending exit and others' struggling with injuries, there have been suggestions the Blues could try to sign the Englishman in what could be a favourable deal.

However, Bowen's loyalty to the Hammers, as well as his legendary status among supporters, which have been proven time and time again, have played a big part in why he may end up staying in east London when so many others wouldn't.

Danny Dyer gives update on Jarrod Bowen's future at West Ham

Popular TV star Danny Dyer — Bowen's father-in-law — has weighed in on how this summer's transfer window will play out for West Ham's number 20.

When speaking to talkSPORT about his son-in-law's future at the London Stadium, Dyer said: “He's a very great, loyal man.

“First and foremost, he is my family, the father of my grandchildren, of course. It's been tough for him. He does deserve Champions League football and whatever decision he makes, or made, I would have supported him.

“I don't think he's going anywhere, and I think he will rip up the Championship, don't you worry yourself about that.”

After penning a long term deal in 2023, Bowen still has four years left on his £187,500-per week contract and is valued upwards of £30 million.

Rare decision

If Bowen were to choose to help get West Ham back to the Premier League, it would be one of the rarest decisions made in modern day football.

If the 29-year-old were to put loyalty over status and an inevitable pay rise, it would be an admirable decision and one most supporters — on both sides — would applaud.

During his six years at West Ham, Bowen, who was named the Hammers' captain in 2024, has scored 85 goals and provided 63 assists in 280 matches in all competitions.

He was the driving force behind the Hammers lifting the 2022-23 UEFA Conference League, scoring a last minute winner in the final against Fiorentina.
