With the transfer window approaching the Chelsea rumour mill has started picking up pace. It will be another busy transfer window for the Blues, who are believed to be looking to bring in a number of players to strengthen their squad.
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has reportedly asked for reinforcements in various positions on the pitch. Along with a centre back and a striker, the Blues are also considering bringing in a right-footed winger.
Nico Williams, Alejandro Garnacho, Liam Delap and several others have been linked with a potential move to Stamford Bridge to bolster the club's options going forward. And it looks like one such player might be open to the idea of a move this summer.
Chelsea have also been following Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers. And a report has revealed the club's asking price for the player.
Morgan Rogers makes transfer decision amid Chelsea links
Rogers is having an incredible season so far. The 22-year-old has scored 14 goals and provided 13 assists in 51 matches for Aston Villa this season. This seems to have caught the eye of Chelsea, and they have been following the player closely.
However, it looks like the Blues will have to shell out quite a high transfer price if they wish to secure the youngster's services. And with Cole Palmer already at the club, would they be willing to make that sort of an investment on a similar player?
According to TEAMtalk, Rogers would be open to a move away from Aston Villa if it presented itself. The Premier League have placed a £90 million transfer value.
Maresca has previously coached the player during his time at the Manchester City academy. The versatile youngster can play in several other positions in addition to attacking midfield.
Having said that, it will be incredibly difficult for Chelsea to sign the player, as clubs like Manchester City and Arsenal are also keeping an eye on him. So even if the Blues manage to meet the asking price, which is unlikely, they may face a tug-of-war situation to secure his signature.
