At the start of the summer, Chelsea were making new signings one after another. They have already signed Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens, and Joao Pedro and could add some more new faces in the future. However, more recently, plenty have been moving in the opposite direction as the Blues seem to be now focusing on clearing up some room in their squad.

Kepa Arrizabalaga head started the list of major departures after he moved to Arsenal. Mathis Amougou has followed suit and joined Chelsea’s sister club Strasbourg. Djordje Petrovic and Noni Madueke have also decided to join Bournemouth and Arsenal, respectively.

Now reports have confirmed that Madueke’s deal is close to being completed. The player is already back in London and set to join Arsenal soon. While Chelsea lifted the Club World Cup, thanks to Cole Palmer's brilliance and an incredible team performance, the England international was nowhere to be seen.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Madueke will complete the final part of his medical at Arsenal in the next 24 hours. He is already in London after a deal was sealed between the clubs for £48m plus £4m add-ons.

Madueke's Chelsea exit could be completed in the next 24 hours

Madueke played a major role at Chelsea last season, having put in some good numbers while playing out of position on the left flank at times. He scored 12 goals and provided five assists in 46 matches in all competitions for the Blues.

However, with the arrival of Gittens and Estevao this summer, Madueke was at risk of slipping down the pecking order. That might have prompted him to leave.

Madueke will soon join the long list of players who have opted to switch to the other side of London in recent years. Despite the rivalry, Arsenal are now on the verge of signing two Chelsea players in this summer alone. And there could be more, as Nicolas Jackson is also said to be on their radar.
