Every club's academy comprises of budding talents who are nurtured and developed in hopes of becoming top professionals in the future. Chelsea's youth setup is no exception, having produced numerous outstanding players over the years. Now there is an update on one of them being handed an extension and heading out on loan.

Kiano Dyer is regarded as a top talent in Chelsea's youth academy. He joined the club from West Bromwich Albion at the end of his Under-14 season and has represented England at the Under-15 and Under-19 levels.

He has played regularly for Chelsea Under-21s for the last two seasons. He even won the Premier League 2 Player of the Month in October 2024.

He even made his senior debut for the Blues in December, when they defeated Astana 3-1 away in the Europa Conference League. And now, he is headed to the Netherlands to take the next step his development at the professional level.

Chelsea announced through their official website that Dyer has signed a new contract until 2030. The midfielder will spend the remainder of the season on loan at Eredivisie side Volendam.

The Blues currently have 16 players out on loan, with Dyer becoming the 17th. The 18-year-old midfielder will now play for Volendam, who are looking to stay in the top tier of Dutch football after being promoted last season.

Chelsea made a wise decision by securing the young talent's future at the club by extending his contract, while also sending him to Volendam on loan. This move will hopefully provide him with valuable first-team experience that he would have surely struggled to get if he stayed at Stamford Bridge. That will help him grow and may make him a valuable asset to the Blues in the future. Best of luck to him.
