The last few days have been very eventful if you are a Chelsea fan, filled with both negatives and positives. First of all, Xavi Simons ended up joining Tottenham Hotspur after it had looked like the Blues had had the deal in the bag for weeks. That's how uncertain the transfer market can be. It does not take long for situations to change, both on the club and player sides.

Chelsea ended up agreeding a loan deal, with no buy option, to bring in Facundo Buonanotte soon afterwards. Then, they agreed a loan deal for Nicolas Jackson to join Bayern Munich on a season-long loan deal for €15 million with a buy option set at €80 million.

Now, though, that deal seems to be up in the air. Liam Delap was injured in the game against Fulham and is expected to be out for a couple of months. And Chelsea have asked Jackson to return to London, although there is believed to be some reluctance in his camp.

Amid all this, the Blues have completed another signing as well. As reported by Chelsea's official website, they have confirmed the signing of Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United. He has signed a long-term deal at Stamford Bridge that runs through to 2032.

Garnacho had been on Chelsea's radar going back to the winter transfer window. And now, they have finally been able to complete the deal that they have wanted for so long. Garnacho will be playing in the Royal Blue jersey and competing with the likes of Jamie Gittens and Pedro Neto for that spot on the left.

Of course, the move has divided the opinion of the Chelsea fans. Some believe that it is the wrong signing, bringing in a player out of form and with question marks around his attitude. On the other hand, there are those who believe that it is a necessary risk considering Garnacho's potential and the relatively low transfer fee.

Chelsea are believed to have agreed a £40 million deal with Manchester United plus a 10% sell-on clause. Considering the modern-day transfer market, that is not a big figure for a player of his talent and potential. In the long run, this could turn out to be a phenomenal signing for the Blues. And even if it does not work out, they should not have a tough time recouping the majority of their investment in a future transfer.
