Chelsea are famous for their loan army. When a commentator says the phrase "on loan from", more often than not the final word of that sentence is invariably Chelsea. Especially since the arrival of BlueCo, it is impossible to keep track of all the young players arriving and indeed departing Stamford Bridge. Nevertheless, Dastan Satpayev might just be one worth keeping track of.
As was confirmed on Friday night, the 18 year old has joined EFL Championship side Burnley on a season-long loan. The Clarets are back in the second-tier following last season's Premier League relegation. Now led by Nicky Hayen, who won three major trophies in charge of Club Brugge in Belgium, Burnley are very much targeting promotion, hoping Satpayev can play a key part.

You may not know Satpayev's name, but you're probably aware of what is now former club achieved just last season. Born and raised in Almaty, he was a key figure as Kazakh champions Kariat upset the odds to qualify for last season's Champions League, despite being located near the Chinese border. The teenager scored during home qualification victories over Olimpija Ljubljana, KuPS and ŠK Slovan Bratislava, before also netting against København at Parken during the league phase.
Even before any of this, Chelsea had agreed to pay €4 million, around £3.4 million, to secure his signature, which could prove to be a bargain. Since moving to West London, Satpayev has seen some minutes in pre-season, featuring against both Juventus in Hong Kong and Johor Darul Ta'zim in Malaysia. In the first pre-season game of the summer, he started and scored against Western Sydney Wanderers during a crazy 6-4 victory over the A-League side at Stadium Australia.
Meantime, on the international stage, Satpayev also bagged his first senior international goal last November. The then 17 year old opened the scoring as Kazakhstan held Belgium to a famous 1-1 draw in a World Cup qualifier in Astana.

So, while the Chelsea first team may seem a long way off for Satpayev, he is clearly immensely talented. Moving to Burnley is a good next step in his career, hoping to feature when the Clarets welcome title favourites West Ham United to Turf Moor on Sunday. According to the Opta League Rankings, the EFL Championship is the tenth strongest league in the world, with the Kazakh Premier League down in 76th, hence why this is a huge step up.
It feels absolutely guaranteed that, at one stage, he will end up at Strasbourg, but the Kazakh youngster is certainly one to keep an eye on in the meanwhile.
