Chelsea secured a 2-0 victory against Bayern Leverkusen at Stamford Bridge in their first pre-season friendly. New arrivals Estevao and Joao Pedro scored one goal each in the match. Meanwhile, two notable names were left out of the squad by Enzo Maresca. Those two names were Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson.

While it is widely known that the French player’s departure is imminent, the situation surrounding the Senegalese striker had been uncertain, especially with the club bringing in Pedro and Liam Delap. But it looks like Jackson has now taken a decision about the next step in his career.

Fabrizio Romano recently posted that it's over between Jackson and Chelsea. They are set to part ways this summer; the plan has been clear since July on both the club and player side.

Jackson joined the Blues in 2023 from Villarreal and has made 81 appearances for the club, scoring 30 goals. While he has shown flashes of brilliance, he has failed to truly make the primary striker role at Chelsea his own.

Chelsea and Nicolas Jackson’s story set to end with the player looking to move this summer

Clubs like Bayern Munich, Juventus, Manchester United, Aston Vila, Newcastle United, and Tottenham Hotspur have already been linked with a move for Jackson. The Bundesliga club have even reportedly made contact with his representatives to explore a move.

It remains to be seen if the player chooses to move to a different league or prefers to stay in England. He certainly has no lack of suitors.

Anyway, the Senegalese striker’s Chelsea journey looks to be coming to an end earlier than expected. But it’s probably what’s best for both the club and the player. We thank him for his contributions in the royal blue shirt and wish him all the best in his future endeavours, if an exit does indeed materialise.
