Chelsea are expected to pull off some more transfer business before the summer window closes. The club have already added Liam Delap, Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens to their ranks. They are also on the verge of signing Jorrel Hato from Ajax, with a medical already believed to be done and a seven-year deal in

Chelsea continue to be linked with plenty of other players. More additions could largely depend on outgoing as well though. Not that they are far away either, if reports are accurate.

Armando Broja is close to completing a move to Burnley this summer. The likes of Christopher Nkunku, Ben Chilwell, Axel Disasi and more could yet leave as well, opening up further squad spots and bolstering the budget at one and the same time.

One of the players who Chelsea are being linked with right now is Xavi Simons of RB Leipzig. While the Hato deal seems as good as over the line, things have been a bit quieter when it comes to his Dutch national teammate though. That has left plenty of fans unsure about whether a move is now off the table. But that might not be the case after all.

Simons tells RB Leipzig that he wants to join Chelsea

As reported by Sacha Tavolieri, Simons has formally communicated to RB Leipzig that he wants to join Chelsea Football Club. Talks are expected to take a decisive turn in the coming days.

So, it looks like talks for Simons continue to move in the right direction. Of course, things like these can often take time.

Signing Simons might not be the end of Chelsea's transfer business for this summer either. Talks about a move for Alejandro Garnacho are growing as well, with the belief being that an offer will be made later in the window. And while the media stance has been that the Blues are happy with their options in goal, that would not explain why they tried to sign Mike Maignan before the Club World Cup. Fans will be hoping that there is something concrete behind the Gianluigi Donnarumma links.
