There is some positivity around Chelsea after their recent win against Liverpool. The hope is that this team will be able to build on this result and go on a good run of form. That being said, it would not be a surprise if they did not do that. We have seen the Blues struggle badly at the start of the 25/26 campaign and it is hard to predict how things will turn out for them after the international break, as they await the return of key players from injuries.

It is believed that Cole Palmer will remain out for at least some more weeks. On the other hand, Levi Colwill is out for the foreseeable future, potentially the entire season. Those are two of Chelsea's pillars.

In the absence of players like these, others need to step up. But their summer signings are not making enough of a difference right now.

Joao Pedro was sensational at the start of his run at Chelsea but has gone cold recently. Of course, perhaps he needs players like Palmer and Liam Delap around him to succeed, and cannot carry the goalscoring burden on his shoulders alone. Jamie Gittens and Jorrel Hato have struggled. And Alejandro Garnacho is another yet to make his mark.

Teddy Sheringham appears to believe that Garnacho might have made a mistake swapping Manchester United for Chelsea. As reported by Metro, he said:

"He made a big move in leaving Manchester United for Chelsea, and it’s not one I would have advised him to make if I were a part of his team.

‘When you’re at United you have to try your utmost to make it work.

‘It is the biggest club in the world, so you won’t be leaving for a better club, and the opportunity to come back won’t be there, especially with the manner in which he left and the way the fans have reacted to it."

Well, it looks like Sheringham might have missed the last decade or so of football. Manchester United are no longer the biggest club in the world. They are probably no longer the biggest club in England, with the success Liverpool have enjoyed lately.

Garnacho's Manchester United exit was set in stone this summer. The destination was what needed to be determined. He chose Chelsea. Now, let's see if it works out or not.

Garnacho has not taken the Premier League by storm in Chelsea colours. He did put in a very positive performance against Liverpool though, and hopefully, it is a sign of things to come for the Argentine.
